13 Easy Ways To Become A Failure
In today’s world, becoming a failure is a
piece
of cake!
All that is required of you is to do one or more of the following
things below. If you aren’t happy with your current situation, look
really hard at this list. Chances are, one of them is at the root of
your problem.
Are you falling victim to these 13 ways to become a
failure? Let’s find out…
1. Lack Of A Defined Purpose
It’s hard to achieve anything great in life if you don’t
know what it is you want to achieve!
So many people just float along in this world. Without
giving any real thought as
to what they want to have happen in their life.
Don’t let this happen to you!
Have a clear statement of what you want to be and what
you want to
accomplish in your life. Everyday, remind yourself of what you want to
accomplish and how you are going to accomplish it.
This will put you way ahead of the 97% of people in this
world who don’t have any goals.
“As you climb the ladder of success, be
sure it’s leaning across the right building.”
2. Belief That Mediocrity Is Your Destiny
It doesn’t occur to some people that they can be a huge
success in
this world. If I told you right now that there is no doubt that you
will become a multi millionaire in your lifetime would you believe me?
Probably not.
So many people are brainwashed into thinking that they
have to live
the ordinary life. Work all the time. Struggle to pay the bills. I
believe the saying goes, “life sucks, then you die.”
This is completely untrue. Believe it or not, there is a
job out there that you would absolutely love going
to everyday. What is it?…
I don’t know! It depends on what you like to do. What I
do know is
that if you search long enough, you will figure out what it is. And if
you want it badly enough, you will figure out what you need to do to
get it.
Don’t believe for a second that you aren’t
destined for great things in your lifetime. After
all…
“The only limitation is that which one sets up
in one’s own mind.”
3. Lack Of Education
You probably guessed that education would be on this
list. However, here is something you may not know…
Just because you went to college doesn’t mean that you
are well
educate. It’s becoming more and more common to have a college
education. You must really separate yourself
from the field. And the way to do that is self-education.
No matter what age you are, you should never, and I
repeat never, stop learning!
Pick up as many books as you possibly can. If you don’t
like to
read, learn to. When I grew up, I hated running. Now, I can barely get
through a day that I don’t first run a mile or two in the treadmill.
If you need a list of books to get you started, here are
some books that changed my life…

Don’t ever forget this quote from Jim Rohn…
“Formal education will get you a job,
self-education will make you a fortune!”
4. Poor Health Habits
Not taking care of your body will make it very easy for
you to
become a failure. You can find plenty of health advice throughout this
site. For further reading, be sure to read Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy.
You’ve heard it a thousand times, “eat right and
exercise.” But for some reason, you may have continued to ignore it.
If you are continuing to ignore the advice, there is no
better time
to get started than right now. You really don’t have to do all that
much to stay healthy.
The key is consistency.
Healthy habits are easy to do. The problem is, they are
also easy not to do. Once
you make eating healthy and exercising a habit, it will be really easy
for you.
And, it will add many years to your life!
“Our health always seems much more valuable
after we lose it.”
5. Procrastination
Everyone suffers from procrastination in one way or
another. I work every day at avoiding to put things off until later.
The #1 cure to procrastination is time management. It
takes a lot of
effort and discipline to master time management. But it’s one of the
most important things you will ever do.
If you don’t already, buy a daily planner. But don’t
stop there!
Each night before you go to bed, write out what you want to accomplish
the following day.
This simple habit will make a world of difference for
you!
When you read the next day’s to-do list right before
bed, your mind goes to work all night on how it can get the job done.
I can’t begin to tell you how important it is to get
things done
today and not wait until tomorrow. Eliminate “I’ll do it tomorrow” from
your vocabulary!
With daily planning, you can either cross your
fingers and say,
“I hope it will work out OK,” or you can give it some attention and
say, “here’s what I would like to accomplish in the next 24 hours.”
6. Negative Personality
Having a negative mental attitude affects you in more
ways than you will ever know.
Controlling the thoughts that go through your mind is
the #1 way to go from a failure to a success.
Nobody likes to be around someone who is constantly
complaining. And
no manager wants to promote someone who is constantly complaining about
their job.
Work very hard on what you are saying to yourself
everyday. Stop saying, “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good enough.”
Anything can be done if you believe it to be true.
Take a good, hard look at yourself right now. Answer
these questions…
Are you the type of person that people want
to be around? Or are you the type of person that people are around you
because they either have to or just to be nice?
What percentage of the comments you make are positive?
What percentage are negative?
Work hard on becoming a more positive person. Start
thinking
optimistically about yourself and your future. You won’t believe the
difference!
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe,
it can achieve.”
7. Uncontrolled Desire For “Something For Nothing”
When I was little, I always dreamed of winning the
lottery and becoming rich. Since then, I have come to realize that…
- it’s nearly impossible to win the lottery
- get-rich-quick schemes don’t exist
- gambling doesn’t pay off
There are much more reliable ways of becoming wealthy.
And it starts with providing value to other. That is the real
key to getting rich.
Stop wasting your time thinking you can get something
for nothing.
This happens everyday in this world. People demand to have more pay for
less work. This formula simply doesn’t work.
Instead, provide more value if you want more money. You
can do that by becoming more valuable.
Of all the 13 failures, this is the one you should
remember the
most. And not because it is the most important. But because it’s the
one that can really turn your life around.
It’s a complete attitude adjustment. And it will help
you become rich.
“Don’t try to get a million dollars. Instead,
focus your time and energy on creating a million dollars worth of
value.”
8. Staying Married To The Wrong Person
This has to be added to the failures list because it is
the #1
reason why people fail. Having an unhappy home destroys all of your
ambitions.
A marriage should propel, not eliminate, your chances
for success.
This isn’t to say that you can’t bounce back from a bad
marriage.
It’s just to say that this is the biggest trap that people fall into.
Believe it or not, marriage is often the driving force
that leads people to success. How is that?…
Most people begin their determination for wealth and
success when they have a burning desire to provide for their family.
Perhaps they are just plain sick of struggling to
survive and don’t
want their family to live like this any more. They then use that
built-up determination and find a way to give their spouse and children
a better life.
If you are struggling, let that driving force within you
take you to
places that you never thought possible. If you aren’t in a marriage
that you want to have a happy ending, it’s time to move on and move out.
“Love at first sight is easy to understand;
it’s when two people
have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a
miracle.”
9. Being Too Cautious
Whether some people realize it or not, they are loaded
with fear.
Whenever someone is about to start something new, such as a business,
there is all kinds of fear that builds up.
What if I fail? What if it doesn’t work out the way I
thought it would? So many reasons why they shouldn’t get started.
Don’t let this happen to you. You must get out and try
things with
no guarantee of success. This is the only way you will learn, by doing.
Before doing this site, I had four other websites about
various
topics. Some of them crashed and burned big time! Others were quit
successful. But what I realize now is that I learned something
different and valuable with each site that I made.
I learned just as much from the bad sites as I did from
the good.
This is what you have to do. Get out and learn by doing.
Don’t be
afraid of failure. If you fail, learn why you failed and avoid doing
that the next time. It’s all apart of the process.
The more things you try, the better your chances that
you will one
day hit it big. As long as you learn from your mistakes, you will never
fail.
“The person who makes the most mistakes has
the most success because they are doers.”
10. Not Following Your Passion
Working at a job that you are not passionate about is a
huge killer
of success. Many people make the mistake of choosing a job based on
money instead of a job that matches their interests. This is a huge
mistake, and I will tell you why…
Because you will make more money with the job that pays
less!
I know it doesn’t make any sense, but it’s true. Of
course,
initially you will make more with the higher paying job. But in the
long term, the job that you enjoy doing will earn you more.
When you do something you are passionate about, you work
harder at
it. You will be more likely to stick with it in the long haul.
Almost every occupation pays more the longer you stay
with it. So if
you do something you hate doing, you are much more likely to quit. And
when you do quit, you will have to start all over again with something
new.
Compare this to a job you love doing. You earn more and
more every year and with no regrets. After all, you love doing it!
Don’t make the mistake of doing something you aren’t
passionate about.
You don’t even have to be good at what you love doing.
When I first
started writing, I was terrible! But I loved to write and I worked at
it every day. I feel that each day I get a little better. I can work
much harder and longer than I did a year ago. And I expect that this
time next year will be the same.
Amazing things happen when you do what you love. So find
what that is and start doing it!
“A strong passion for any object will ensure
success, for the desire of the end will point out the means.”
11. Spending Too Much
This is an incredible easy way to fail. And
unfortunately, is very common.
For some reason, most of us were born with this
unstoppable urge to
spend, spend spend! It’s almost impossible for some of us to stop
spending!
If you want to avoid failure, you need to control your
spending. You need to be smarter with money and how you spend it.
Did you know you can spend money and become richer?
It’s true! It’s called investing. Now, there are many
types of
investing. Too many types to be covered here. But keep this in mind,
try to spend more on things that will earn you
money down the road and less on things that have no value.
The stock market has went up on average of
over 9% a year over
the last 100 years. Doesn’t it seem smarter to invest $1000 in
something that goes up every year instead of spending $1000 on a new
television for your bedroom?
It’s not you salary that makes you rich, it’s
your spending habits.”
12. Inability To Cooperate With Others
In the business world, it is essential that you get
along with
others. The reality is this, more people get promoted because they are
liked and respected compared to being promoted because they are the
best for the job.
That statement is worth reading a second time because it
really is true.
If every one of your fellow employees hate you, it
doesn’t matter
how good you are at what you do. Your chances of being promoted are
very slim! Now, I’m sure you’re not the type of person that is strongly
disliked. But I bet you could do a little to improve your people skills.
I strongly recommend that
you, and everyone else on this planet, read How To Win Friends And Influence People
. It’s truly the
best book of it’s kind. And it’s been around forever.
Get along well with everyone and learn to work together
with your colleagues. Neglecting to do so is an easy way to fail.
“The most important function of education at
any level is to
develop the personality of the individual and the significance of his
life to himself and to others.”
13. Making Lying A Habit
I am a huge advocate of honesty and integrity. Pay
attention to the
next movie you watch. Ask yourself, “How many problems could have been
avoided if they stopped lying?”
The same thing happens in real life. Here’s the thing…
So many people in this world try to get rich by scamming
people.
While doing so might give them some success at first, eventually it
will catch up to them.
Lying simply doesn’t work in the long term. If you lie,
eventually
you are going to get caught. And when you do, you are often times going
to have to pay serious consequences.
Whether you lie at home or at your job, it’s not going
to be pretty.
The best way to avoid all of this is to simply not lie.
Not once. Not ever! You won’t have to constantly cover your tracks.
It’s just better not to lie. So don’t do it!
“Always tell the truth. That way, you don’t
have to remember what you said.”
