Ultimate Personal Development, Issue #002 - Feb 2009 Updates February 05, 2009 |
Hello, If not, there's no need to worry. You can set and start new goals any time during the year. January 1st is just the cover boy for setting goals. For me, January was a BIG month! I started a new section of the site called Personal Development Experiments (more on that later). I also added some wild and crazy photos of myself to the site. Hope you enjoy. As for this issue...
CONTENTS: 1. Personal Development Launched!
1. Personal Development Experiments Launched! I finally started a section of the site that I've been wanting to do for a long time now. It's called Personal Development Experiments Basically, I have a series of experiments I am going to do to learn first-hand what does and doesn't work when it comes to reaching goals and working harder. I started off last month with a push up workout experiment. This month I decided to focus on writing which I'll talk about in just a second. I'm hoping these experiments will inspire you to try them. Or, other experiments that you come up with on your own. Because trying new things and taking action is the foundation of personal development.
2. Crazy Customized Pictures Of Myself Personal development is often times a serious subject. So I decided, why not have a little bit of fun? Over the years, I've collected a lot of wild and crazy pictures of myself. Some are too embarassing to show! But I built a page showing off some customized pictures that I've gathered from the Internet and other sources. I hope you'll enjoy. You're not going to want to miss it... 3. Guide To Reading Fiction And Non Fiction Books You probably know by now that I am an avid reader. My personal development books recommendations is just a small sampling of the books I've read in the last couple of years. I'm planning to add more books to that list soon by the way. Lately, I've changed my thinking a little bit. I've had the philosophy that non fiction books are the only books worth reading. However, lately I've been doing a lot of fiction reading and have found it to be really enjoyable. In life, one thing I've definitely learned is that too much of anything is a bad thing. No matter what it is. It's not good to read only one type of book. It's not good to eat out at the same restaurant every time. You have to explore. You have to try new things. Life is so much better that way. As for reading, here's my thoughts on reading fiction... Why Reading Fiction Is A Good Thing ...and a thorough guide to getting the most out of a non fiction book... 4. Online Writing Experiment In January, I did an experiment where I wrote every day for 21 days. I'm almost complete with the experiment and I have to say that it has been very successful. I've been able to get a lot of work done for the site because of this experiment. I've added lots of new pages recently. And traffic to the site has gone up too. To follow me on my writing experiment, and to see what it's been like, check it out here... That's all for now. I hope your February is a good one.
