Ultimate Personal Development, Issue #001 - Jan 2009 Updates
January 03, 2009

Hello,
I truly hope you had a wonderful holiday season. 2008 was a HUGE year for me personally. And as for 2009, I've decided to kick it off right by sending out my first ever newsletter.

This newsletter's goal is to connect with you on a more personal level. On the website, I try to write content that is timeless and relevant for a lifetime. For the newsletter, I'll tend to focus more on the here and now.

I have lots of plans for the website in the weeks and months ahead. Including the start of several personal development experiments that I have planned. I would love to get your feedback and suggestions as that progresses, so please don't hesitate to use the contact form on my website. I absolutely LOVE hearing what you have to say.

As for this issue...

CONTENTS:

1. Push Up Workout - My First Ever Personal Development Experiment
2. Job Search Help During A Tough Economic Time
3. Plan Your Dream Life
4. A Lesson On Giving

1. Push Up Workout - My First Ever Personal Development Experiment

I've done it. My first ever personal development experiment! An experiment that consisted of doing one set of push ups every day for 21 straight days. I'll have to admit, I didn't pick the best time of the year to do this experiment. I usually spend half of the December month stuffing my face full of Chex Mix and those popcorn tins that have caramel, butter, and cheese flavors.

But I'm glad I fought through the temptation to procrastinate and follow through on this interesting experiment.

You can find the results, and more details on the experiment here...

2. Job Search Help During A Tough Economic Time

I know how difficult of a time it is for a lot of people out there. I have a real soft spot for job searchers because I know first-hand how depressing it can be.

I'm a young guy, so I've only had to job search one time in my life, but during that time I learned a TON about how to job search effectively. I've read all of the job searching books, but there were a few key points that I thought lead to me ultimately getting my first job.

If you are currently on the job search, I highly encourage you take a look at the articles below. If it's your first job, check out this...

And for more detailed job search help...

Job Search Help For Those With Job Search Depression

If you aren't currently job searching, I highly encourage you to check these articles out. Just so you'll pick up a few tips about job searching the next that time comes.

And if you like the articles, I hope that you will send the link to someone that you believe needs it. The power of giving is a tremendous thing. And if you can help a friend whose in need by giving them job search tips, you'll be surprised how they will help you down the road when you most need it.

3. Plan Your Dream Life

I have a fun little activity for you. Sit back and imagine your life is perfect in every way five years from now. What do you do? Where do you live? What does your vision look like?

Now, it's quite simple. What do you need to do RIGHT NOW that help lead to making that dream a reality? Five years is a ridiculous amount of time whether you realize it or not. Especially when you spend that time working hard on your goal.

Find out more about dream planning and also share your own dream here...

4. A Lesson On Giving

I read a powerful book in December called the Go-Giver. It was a testament to the power of giving and how it can change your life. It had such as immediate effect on me, it is this area of personal development that I want to focus on in 2009.

I hope my giving will help you in some way this year. I hope more than anything that I hear your voice and hear that my contribution has helped you in some way. Even if I only help you out a little bit, I would love to hear about it. My contact form...

...will always be there if you want to share your thoughts or stories.

If you want to "feel" the power of giving, you can share an article from the site (or some other site) that you found inspiring. You can also give a friend a book that you thought had an impact on your life.

However small it may seem, when you start getting in the giving habit, there's no telling what will happen. I plan on doing a LOT of giving this year. I hope you will do the same.

Until next time,

Ryan Whiteside
