How To Reach A Goal Of 100 Push-Ups
What if I told you that no matter what, I could get you to do 100 push-ups without stopping? You wouldn’t believe me would you?
Well, in fact, we all know that you could get down on the floor right now and probably not even come close to doing 100 push-ups! All the motivation in the world couldn’t get you to get down and do it!
However, if you truly wanted to do 100 push-ups without stopping, you could. In fact, you could achieve any goal with the proper planning and attitude adjustment. Here’s how to do 100 push-ups…
Get down on the floor right now and do as many push-ups as you can. It doesn’t matter if you can only do a few or if you can do a whole bunch. Let’s say, for the sake of example, that you can do ten push-ups.
That’s our start. Ten push-ups. We have our goal set at being able to do 100 push-ups! Holy crap, that’s impossible isn’t it? To go from 10 push-ups to 100! Not if you do this…
Every morning for one week, get down on the ground and try to do 11 push-ups. Over the course of a week, you could easily have one day where you would be able to do 11 push-ups couldn’t you? I know you could!
Every day that week, try your hardest to do 11 push-ups.
The next week, you have a new goal of doing 12 push-ups. I can tell you first-hand, going from 11 to 12 is just as easy as going from 10 to 11. It’s just one more push-up!
For one week, you will have no trouble getting strong enough to where you can do 12 push-ups without stopping. It will be easy if you stay consistent.
Follow this plan every day and every week. Get to the point where you can do one more push-up then you could the week before. Well, guess what happens after you do this for two years?
If we started at 10, that’s 114 push-ups!
Sure, it takes two years. But at the beginning of this article, you thought it was impossible that you could ever do 100 push-ups!
You know very well that you could do just one more push-up than the week before. That is, if you had the motivation to follow this plan on a consistent basis.
It’s easy to improve one push-up a week because your muscles naturally grow a little stronger every time you hit the floor and do push-ups.
It’s the accumulation of all of that work that leads to results that you never thought possible.
This can be done with all types of goals in your life. But let’s stay with our push-ups example.
Don’t you agree that if you followed the plan above you would eventually be able to do 100 push-ups? Even if you made it easier and only tried to gain one push-up every two weeks. It would take longer, but you would get there!
You can try this system with other things in your life!
Do you think you are unable to afford to take a vacation this year? Try putting $3 in a jar every day. That’s $1095 you can have for your trip. You could put $3 in a jar today couldn’t you?
Or perhaps you want to learn a new language. Try memorizing three new words a day in that language. After a year or two, you will know more than enough words to be able to speak the language almost fluently. You could memorize three new words today couldn’t you?
You can accomplish anything you have a burning desire for if you have the patience to wait for it to come true.
In the example of paying for a vacation, it’s easy to put $3 away every day. That’s nothing. But the thing is, it’s easy not to do as well. If you are disciplined and can make it a daily habit, you will have no problem saving up that $1000 for a nice vacation.
But you will only have the discipline if you have the desire.
I encourage you to try this system on a big goal that you want to achieve in your life. Figure out what you will need to do daily and for how long before your goal will be accomplished.
Commit to working on it daily and make no exceptions. The moment you start slacking is the moment you will start to quit.
If you need to, make a Seinfeld Calendar (opens new window). Don’t lose focus on your ultimate goal.
I know you can do whatever your heart desires if you use this system. Whether it be 100 push-ups or a massive fortune, any goal can be achieved if you have the passion and the commitment to make it come true.
